En Común is on a mission to get Bushwick households connected to the digital tools they need.
Digital literacy starts with residents having reliable internet access and instructions on accessing local resources online. The internet plays an important role for employment, education, and more, and En Común wants to make sure our neighborhood is well informed and connected.
Our Partners
Low-Cost Community Internet with NYC Mesh
NYC Mesh is a community-owned, decentralized network that provides low-cost, fast internet service to entire buildings. They offer buildings a viable alternative to Verizon FIOS and Spectrum for home internet service at a fraction of the cost. Internet connection to the NYC Mesh network is safe and secure; unlike traditional internet service providers, no personal user data is collected.
Our team has been leading internet installs with NYC Mesh, including Spanish translation support, since Spring 2021. En Común provides the support needed for community members to build digital literacy and gain personal autonomy. Each successful install contributes to the growth of community-owned and accessible communications infrastructure in New York City.
